The Audio Visual Company (AVCO) was awarded the project to install various AV systems throughout the new Waterfront Recreation Facility. It included a wave pool and deck area, bar area with stage and DJ performance area, restaurant, private cabanas, and water recreational facility. AVCO provided audio and video systems that promoted an immersive experience for retail guests visiting the Waterfront Recreation Facility. Sound reinforcement systems were provided for the wave pool and deck area. These included steerable column arrays with subwoofers to cover the pool area and ceiling speakers to cover the deck area. Background music was provided for the restaurant/ bar area, washrooms, outdoor dining, back of house and the private cabanas. A stage sound system providing a mixing console along with input/output plates and a full complement of speakers with stage monitors, ceiling mounted right and left speakers and subwoofers. The mixing console could be hooked up at the bar stage area, or from the east side of the pool deck. Behind the stage a large LCD video wall provides a backdrop to display videos of guests surfing the wave pool or videos to match the band music. Video cameras feeds are also available for live streaming of the wave pool. The private cabanas also can view the camera feeds of the wave pool or they can select video streams put on by the facility. Outdoor rated 75” displays were provided for training of wave pool guests on the safety aspects of using the pool. Background music also covered the Nalo lounge and the retail area.
